How to resize images for social media

  1. Upload your image. Drop in a JPG, PNG or WebP file — everything runs locally in your browser.
  2. Select your social media platforms. Tick the sizes you need, from Instagram portrait posts to YouTube thumbnails.
  3. Choose crop, fit or blur. Crop to fill with drag-to-position, fit the whole image on a colored padding, or use a blurred self-backdrop.
  4. Preview and download. Check each result, adjust individual crops, then save single files or one ZIP.

Social media image sizes

Common starting points from each platform’s public specs. Platforms adjust layouts over time — treat these as working defaults, not the only official values.

Crop vs fit vs blur background

Crop to fill

Fills the whole frame and trims the overflow. Best for covers and portraits where the subject can survive a tighter cut. Drag any preview to choose what stays in frame.

Fit with padding

Keeps every pixel of the original visible and fills the gaps with a solid color — handy for logos, charts and product shots that cannot be cropped.

Blur background

The feed-favourite look: the full image sits centered over a blurred, zoomed copy of itself, so there are no flat bars and no lost edges.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize one image for multiple social media platforms?

Upload a single JPG, PNG or WebP image, tick the platform sizes you need — Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Xiaohongshu and more — pick a fit mode, preview each result, then download individual files or everything as one ZIP.

Is this social media image resizer free?

Yes. The tool is free with no account, no watermark and no download limits.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All resizing runs in your browser with the Canvas API. Your image files are never uploaded, stored or sent to any third party.

Can I resize an image without cropping?

Yes. Choose “Fit with padding” to keep the whole image visible on a solid background, or “Blur background” which fills the canvas with a blurred version of the image itself.

What image formats can I download?

You can export PNG, JPG or WebP. Transparent backgrounds are flattened onto white when exporting JPG.

Can I download all sizes in one ZIP?

Yes. Select multiple platform presets and click “Download all as ZIP” to get every size in a single archive named genfeeds-social-images.zip.
