Convert, check, then save

  1. Add UTF-8 SRT/VTT files or paste subtitles. Your files stay on this device.
  2. Choose SRT, VTT or TXT and convert. Invalid files show a block number; overlaps and order issues are warnings, not automatic fixes.
  3. Review the preview and any lost-format warnings. Download a file or a ZIP of successful results; failed files are not included.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the subtitle editor?

This tool converts formats, extracts text and processes batches. Use the subtitle editor to change text, shift timing, rewrap lines or merge short cues. Conversion never reorders or retimes your cues.

What remains in TXT?

Cue text and internal line breaks remain. Numbers, timestamps and HTML/VTT formatting tags are removed; common entities are decoded. Braces remain literal. Speaker names contained only in voice tags are not included.

What happens to invalid timings?

Invalid timecodes, reversed or zero-length ranges and malformed blocks block that file with a location. Overlaps and out-of-order cues warn without being changed. Other valid files can still download. ZIP contains only successful results, with failures counted.

Does it support every VTT style?

It supports basic text cues, optional cue IDs and common position settings. NOTE comments are skipped with a warning. STYLE, REGION and custom headers are explicitly rejected. Layout, IDs and specialized tags lost on SRT/TXT export are flagged; choose VTT when you need to keep them.

What are the limits, and are files uploaded?

Up to 20 UTF-8 SRT/VTT files, 2MB each, 20MB total and 10000 blocks per file. Files and ZIP creation stay local. Output names include a queue number to avoid collisions.
